THE VALUE
OF RESOURCES
The cornerstones of the code of ethics shared by all the staff working at Alber are the values underlying the management model established by international standard SA 8000, according to which employees falling within the company’s sphere of control and influence are valued and protected. The ethical values that inspire the company involve the entire supply chain in all fields of activity to ensure a consistent approach towards the market, consumers and stakeholders. Alber’s policy needs to be consistent with certifications and the code of ethics developed since its foundation.
The intent is to make people’s stay with the company safe, pleasant and profitable, knowing that they will be involved because of their skills, according to their expectations and valued according to the results achieved. The aim is to increasingly foster the involvement and participation of staff and the supply chain in the process of continual improvement inside and outside the company, in relation to the impact that the company has on the environment around it.
The vision is to spread awareness about the company’s impact on the social fabric in which it operates. This aspect is expressed in the daily actions undertaken, in the medium-long term strategies and in the company’s social accounting report.
Environmental sensitivity dictated by the constant and continuous optimisation of every single aspect of the management, production and industrial process led Alber to save the emission of 80 tonnes of Co2 per year. It also means that there is a high awareness of the use of internal resources to protect the environment (from digitisation to reduce paper consumption, to the use of packaging optimised in size, materials and selection of the supply chain, up to making the company plastic-free in its daily management activities).
The trend of the Lana headquarters is to save 40% in energy consumption thanks to a redesign of its lighting systems by using smart systems, an optimisation of its fleet of vehicles and videoconferences to optimise travel, in addition to structural insulation and energy efficiency works. A company approach focusing on a ‘spending review’ of economic, energy and environmental resources.
